They’re part of your family — with their own personality, funny habits and little expressions you know by heart.
A pet photography session gives you beautiful photographs of all those things you never want to forget.
Whether you have a mischievous puppy, a much-loved family dog or a senior companion who has been by your side for years, we’ll create natural photographs that feel completely like them.
Sessions can take place in my Melrose studio or outdoors at a favourite location across the Scottish Borders.
Your pet doesn’t need to sit perfectly, look at the camera or know how to pose.
In fact, some of the best photographs happen when we let them simply be themselves.
We’ll work at their pace, giving them time to explore, settle in and get comfortable. There’s plenty of time for treats, breaks and a little chaos along the way.
The result is a collection of photographs full of personality — the expressions, quirks and character that make your pet yours.
Choose whichever feels most like your pet.
Perfect for creating clean, timeless portraits where your pet is the centre of attention.
My photography studio in Melrose provides a relaxed environment where we can take our time and create a variety of photographs without worrying about the Scottish weather.
If your pet is happiest running through the grass, exploring woodland or walking somewhere familiar, an outdoor session may be perfect.
We can photograph them at a favourite location around Melrose or elsewhere in the Scottish Borders, capturing natural moments while they explore and play.
You don’t have to stay behind the camera.
Your relationship with your pet is part of their story, so you’re very welcome to join them for some photographs.
Couples, children and the whole family can be included too.
Years from now, these may be some of the photographs that mean the most.
Please don’t worry — they really don’t have to.
I don’t expect pets to behave like trained models. We’ll use treats, toys, noises, movement and plenty of patience to get their attention when we need it.
If they want to run around first, we let them.
If they need a break, we take one.
And if they completely ignore everything we planned? Sometimes those are the photographs with the most personality.

You don’t need to arrive with a perfectly trained pet or worry about getting them to perform for the camera.
Just bring them as they are.
I’ll take care of the rest.

Sessions can take place at my photography studio in Melrose or outdoors at a suitable location in the Scottish Borders.
That’s absolutely fine. Safety always comes first. We can still create natural outdoor photographs while keeping your dog secure.
Absolutely. I’d actually encourage it. You can have photographs with your pet, and partners and children can join too.
Yes. Let me know how many pets you’d like photographed when you enquire so we can choose the most suitable session and plan enough time.
We won’t rush them. I’ll give them time to become comfortable with me, the studio and the camera before expecting anything from them.
Absolutely. Senior pet sessions can be especially meaningful, and everything can be kept gentle and comfortable for them.
We take hundreds of everyday photographs of our pets on our phones, but having photographs that truly capture their personality is something different.
Their favourite expression.
The way they look at you.
The little details you see every day and think you’ll always remember.
Let’s preserve them properly.
