I’m Mags, a newborn, maternity and family photographer based in Melrose, Scottish Borders.

My work is centred around creating calm, natural photography for families — from those first quiet days with a newborn, to growing families, milestones and meaningful events.

I’m based in Melrose, in the heart of the Scottish Borders, where I photograph newborns, families, weddings and meaningful events across Scotland and beyond.

My studio in Melrose is a cosy, light-filled space designed for families — a place where you can laugh, cuddle and simply be yourselves.

It’s my happy place: calm, welcoming and full of warmth. Whether you’re visiting with your newborn, your partner or your whole family, I’ll make sure the experience feels easy and natural from start to finish.

When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll usually find me exploring the countryside, editing with a coffee in hand, or chasing golden light — simply because it makes me happy.

I understand that being in front of a camera can feel uncomfortable, especially during pregnancy or in the early days with a newborn.

That’s why my sessions are designed to be calm, flexible and unhurried.

You don’t need to know how to pose, and there’s no expectation for babies or children to behave in a certain way. Sessions are baby-led and child-friendly, with plenty of time for feeding, settling, movement and pauses when needed.

My role is to guide gently and take care of the details — so you can simply be present.

Whether it’s your wedding day, your newborn’s first days, or a quiet afternoon with your family, I’d love to capture it for you.
