Children’s photography is about capturing personality, curiosity and real expression, without pressure or expectations.
📸 Relaxed, child-led sessions
Children’s sessions are calm, playful and completely child-led.
There’s no expectation for children to sit still, smile on cue or behave in a certain way. Sessions allow space for movement, exploration and natural interaction, so your child can simply be themselves.
🌿 Images that feel true to your child
My children’s photography focuses on natural expressions and genuine moments rather than forced poses.
The aim is to create images that reflect who your child is at this stage — photographs you’ll look back on and recognise instantly.
Where sessions take place
Children’s sessions can take place in my Melrose studio or outdoors across the Scottish Borders, depending on what suits your child best.
Studio sessions offer a calm, familiar environment, while outdoor sessions allow more freedom to move and explore.
Easy for Parents Too
You don’t need to prepare perfectly.
If your child is shy, energetic, quiet or curious — that’s all absolutely fine.
I work at their pace and keep everything calm and simple.
I’ll guide you gently from start to finish.
🎂 Cake Smash & First Birthday Sessions
Your baby’s first birthday is such a special moment — full of personality, smiles, and (a little bit of) frosting!
Cake smash sessions are joyful, messy, and full of laughter — the perfect way to celebrate turning one.

I photograph children’s sessions across the Scottish Borders, including Melrose, Galashiels, Kelso, Peebles, Hawick and Jedburgh.
